I have been working on a modification to the copy of the Christiansburg Town Charter (my copy even includes the 2010 Amended 2.01 concerning voting in November). This modification will provide bookmarks for every section and subsection of the Town Charter. Why? Because there are quite a few people who are reviewing this particular document who have asked for the various sections to be easier to find.
While I was doing this, I found something kind of interesting:
What this means to me is that members of Town Council have a right and a responsibility to ‘police their own’. I have found nothing in the Town Council Minutes since July 2001 to indicate that this process has ever been utilize, but it is available. Why heck, if applied it could generate funds for the town, sort of a ‘user’s fee’:)
Anyway, the newer ‘bookmarked’ version of the Town Charter will be online soon at myvaresources.com. I’ll post an announcement here, on facebook, and send out the usual email notices when it is completed.

Thanks for the que; it’s needed. A lot of documents are time consuming to dissect.
The behavior of a certain council member, as of late, is exemplary of the disdain that some ‘officials’ hold for our local citizens. But, consider the source; not the brightest star in the local galaxy, in my opinion.

it all goes back to the christiansburg “owner” -lance terpenny. When will council do something about his blundering follies and retake c’burg?

I can picture the nice C’burg policeman (who I assume is there to keep order) handing out citations and fines. Probably going to have to wait until more council members are replaced (if 5 must concur) because they still seem reluctant to cast the first stone, as it were. Thank you for going to the trouble of providing folks with the charter; it becomes easier to speak up when you have your facts straight.

There is also a Code of Conduct for council.
