On June 2, 2009, at the Christiansburg Town Council Meeting, a presentation was done by the Christiansburg High School Photography Club. This group had volunteered to generate photographs of Christiansburg for use on the new town website. Unfortunately, these photos have not been displayed on the Town’s website as promised.
These students provide some excellent insights through their work as to how they perceive the Town of Christiansburg to be and what they feel is important/special about their Town. More information on this presentation can be found at: ThinkChristiansburg.com
The Mayor promised these photos would be included on the Town’s website, but this has yet to happen. Here is a quick view of these photos and the presentation by the Mayor on video recording of the town council meeting.
Promises made … should be kept! Not following through on promises made to the public in these types of situations is a sure way to cause people to lose the sense of trust in government that is CRUCIAL for good government.

The students presented lovely photographs. I noticed there was one of the courthouse flag. Too bad it wasn’t taken at night. I wonder if the lighting would have been working.

I agree. They did great work. It was interesting to see what they picked out as being representative of Christiansburg. These students are our Town leaders of tomorrow. It is so important to see ‘how’ they see the Town of Christiansburg. They did a super job. I would be happy and proud to host their photographs on the myvaresources.com website. If anyone knows who to contact, I will call and make the offer. Heck! If they want their own website I’ll host it for them.
