The League of Women Voters of Montgomery County is co-hosting a candidate forum with the Virginia Interfaith Center, and the NAACP for Montgomery County School Board candidates. It is being held at the County Office Building in Christiansburg tonight, October 1, 2009, from 7 to 9 PM. Questions will be collected from the audience and the candidates will respond to those questions. Should there be insufficient time to ask all questions, those questions which were not asked will be provided to the candidates and those questions, along with the responses from candidates, will be posted on the League’s website. If you want to make sure that your questions are provided to the candidates, you will need to attend the forum. In other words, “Ya’ll come!” Hope to see you there.
The League has also published a Voter’s Guide that gives biographical information on candidates and the responses to 3 or more questions that were posed to all candidates. The Voter’s Guide (containing information from all candidates, including: Governor,Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, Montgomery County School Board, and Town of Blacksburg Town Council) can be picked up tonight at the forum or can be found online at: 2009 Voter’s Guide. Also, you can find information on other candidate forums at: 2009 Candidate Forums.
